Healing Waters- New Mexico Contemporary Ensemble
This program by the New Mexico Contemporary Ensemble, in collaboration with local sculptor Ellen Babcock, is a presentation of indeterminate music. The indeterminate aspects of the music allow the performers more liberty to make a particularly spontaneous performance experience, in this case emphasizing the dialogue between space and sound. For this evening’s performance the Contemporary Ensemble utilizes a more diverse instrumentation to provide a more colorful palette of sounds and textures for the audience.

Canvas- New Mexico Contemporary Ensemble
The New Mexico Contemporary Ensemble presents a program in collaboration with local sculptor Ellen Babcock, focusing on elements present in her installation. Ms. Babcock and the Contemporary Ensemble have developed programs based on the themes of enclosure, vastness, and verticality to explore the intersection of the visual and aural mediums. The musical repertoire is selected from contemporary composers of the Americas and features a wide variety of pieces, including works that feature electronics, soloistic playing and experimental compositional techniques.
